Dear Majka…

Dear Majka,

How are you? How is London treating you? I hope you are well and enjoying it. I know it is not easy to move to another country, and I also know that doing it on your own is even harder.

We haven’t really been in touch lately and It’s been almost three months now. I feel like we are a bit out of synch. I was hoping it was something temporary, but it seems things are not getting any better. I cherish our relationship and I want to talk about this fall out we’ve had.

Let me tell you, you have been a BAD GIRL. I am quite upset, because you have not been caring enough about me lately. I know you have been working hard and I know you have been very stressed trying to settle into a completely different lifestyle in a new city  but still…WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?! Skipping meals, not drinking enough water, going to bed very late, running everywhere like crazy. This is getting serious and I do not like it at all. We need to sort this situation out NOW. Please get yourself a nice cup of herbal tea, sit and listen to me carefully.

You cannot go to bed at 2am and wake up 6 hours later. Ever heard of a thing called “beauty sleep”? Well let me tell you, it is not about beauty only, not getting enough sleep is just not healthy. I know you have always loved sleeping, and I also know that you’d rather get those extra 15 minutes in bed than having breakfast. Just think about the meaning of the word itself…BREAK FAST. Not a good idea to break that at dinnertime. I have also noticed you are not drinking enough water. Great idea, but then do not complain if your skin is dry, if you get dizzy and if your back hurts. You have been warned.

These are just a few of the things that have truly bothered me, but the list could go on forever. You are trying to go green, but you have forgotten about the basics. I might be brutal, but if you keep behaving like this, you won’t be going anywhere.

How about I give you some tips to get back on track?

Sleep

Try to go to bed a bit earlier, start with 30 minutes, then increase that slowly. Midnight should be your goal during the week, not too early, but still enough to get an 8 hour sleep. I would avoid random naps, as they just mess up your sleeping patterns even more.

Water

You don’t like tap water in England and that should make it easier to keep track of how much you are actually drinking. I know big bottles are heavy to carry around, so just get the small ones and make sure you have at least 4 a day, 2 litres is a good amount.

Breakfast

Stop skipping meals. Why don’t you get yourself a blender? Get one with a portable cup, so that you can take the smoothie to work with you. Try to mix fruit and greens, bananas, spinach, avocado, berries, kale… an easy way to get one of your 5 a day. I would also add some coconut water, which is highly beneficial and tastes great.

Relax

Take some time for yourself, read a book, go for a walk, watch your favourite TV show, dance, sing. Do something that makes you happy, whatever that may be. Sometimes we need to switch off and just relax. Seems you have forgotten about that lately!

We can’t keep going on our green journey if you don’t fix these things first.

    Majka! I’ve missed you on the blogosphere 🙂 Wow, congrats on your move to London, that’s super exciting but I can imagine how stressful it can be as well. I hope everything settles super quickly, so that you can finally have some time to breathe and take care of yourself. Have you tried getting those powder supplements. I take the ones from Organic Burst. You can add them anywhere (water, solid foods etc…), and they are really helpful.
