Going Green #Shampoo

As I mentioned in my previous post I am a bit of a cosmetic hoarder. I like shoes and handbags too, but beauty is what really makes my wallet cry.

Trying to green my life up also means cleaning out my beauty cupboard.

Not an easy task, as I am aiming to finish up what I already have (1755 shampoos, 102 conditioners, 234 body lotions, 68 face masks and on goes the list…) before buying new goodies.

Let’s start with shampoo!

I googled up some options and these are the ones that I liked the best.

John Masters Organics Bare Unscented Shampoo

I like the fact that it is unscented, as I can mix it with essential oils. I was thinking of peppermint or sweet orange, which I also add to my washing to make clothes smell nice and fresh.

This shampoo is made with 14 certified-organic ingredients, including jojoba oil, evening primrose, chamomile, aloe vera and lavender and it is safe for colour treated hair. Cruelty free of course!

Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Mango Shampoo

Burt's Bees

I truly love mango, it’s probably one my favourite fruits ever! This shampoo contains mango seed oil and fig extract, it’s 99.7% natural and it improves shine and softness. Not sure what it smells like…does mango seed oil smell like mango pulp?? I hope so!

Green People Clarifying Vitamin Shampoo

Detoxifying and nourishing, this product could be the perfect candidate to substitute my current clarifying shampoo. Made with organic aloe vera and avocado, it’s vegan and cruelty free. It contains bergamot and mandarin oils, so I expect it to have an uplifting citrusy smell. It’s 82.56% organic and free from SLS/SLES, parabens, phthalates and artificial fragrances.

Lavera Organic Orange Volume Shampoo

lavera orange

I have fine wavy hair, which can be hard to handle sometimes.

This product contains wheat proteins and green tea to strengthen locks and hops extract for a volumising effect. It is formulated with 100% natural and organic ingredients and has no parabens, petrochemicals or toxic chemicals. It has a citrusy smell and it’s vegan and cruelty free.

I have used John Masters Organics (blood orange & vanilla body milk and body wash, lip calm, shine on leave-in treatment, sea mist sea salt spray and pomegranate facial nourishing oil) and Lavera (roll on deodorant and mint toothpaste) products before, but I am not familiar with Burt’s Bees and Green People so I am quite curious!!

Have you tried any of these shampoos? Thoughts?
